Descrizione

La dimensione della calotta varia tra 45 mm e 95 mm. La conchiglia è variegata di viola e bianco, annebbiata con la castagna, con numerose file rotanti di minuscole castagne e articolazioni bianche. L'interno dell'apertura è violaceo. Come tutte le specie del genere Conus , queste lumache sono predatorie e velenose . Sono in grado di "pungere" gli umani, quindi quelli vivi dovrebbero essere maneggiati con cura.

Diffusione

Si trova nel Pacifico indo-occidentale: Madagascar, Mauritius, Tanzania, India, le Filippine, Queensland (Australia).
